Review Policy
Although I mostly read and review YA paranormal, fantasies and dystopians, plus the occasional contemporary, I'm pretty much welcome to anything YA or even New Adult. I will accept novels and novellas that are both published and self published, so if you're looking to generate some interest or buzz for your new novel - I'd definitely be glad to help out!
Book Rating Scale
I rate the books I read on a scale of 1 to 5 berries (which are my version of stars)
1 berry = I absolutely hated it. There are no redeeming qualities to this books or parts of it that I even liked. There were major problems with plot, characters - hell there may have been a few grammatical errors. I wouldn't recommend it, wouldn't read it again and I would rather burn it then put it on my book shelf. Harsh but true.
2 berries = I really didn't like it. I may have even hated it. But the huge difference between a 1 berry and a 2 berry is that the book with 2 berries usually has some sort of redeeming quality. Maybe the writing was excellent but the plot, the characters and virtually everything else sucked.
3 berries = I liked it. It was cute or average or maybe even a little mediocre. There are some things that need work but overall it was a okay story with okay characters.
4 berries = It was great and I really liked it, maybe even loved it. Whether it was the writing, the protagonist or the plot there was something about this book that I really really loved. But there's usually something missing, some one aspect I didn't really like that sort of affected the whole book for me. Wether theres too much action or too little, theres usually a little problem that annoys me so much it makes me love this already amazing book a teensy bit less. But just a teensy bit.
5 berries = When I finished this novel I cried a little bit because I was sad that it was over and then I sniffled, wiped my tears and started reading it again. I loved this book so much that there were virtually no problems. Books are rarely perfect, so if there were things that bothered me, they were so minuscule compared to my great love for this book that they barely affected my reading experience. After books like this I usually thank the heavens that the author was born simply because they created the miracle that was this book.
* I try my best to give honest and very opinionated reviews however if you disagree, agree or want to discuss something I said about a book, feel free to sound off in the comments. I'd love to hear from you all!
